Great Service and Amaizing Product!
When I went to the store to purchase these checkered vans for my birthday the lady who worked at nordstom was so helpful she knew exactly what she was doing and was patient as I still hadn't decided if I wanted the checkered ones or the plain white ones. She also helped me find the perfect size. The shoes are also great. Great quality! I have had mine for quite a while now and they are still in great condition. I love them! What was also great is that usually when I get my vans from the vans store I don't get fit properly and they end up stretching out overtime and no longer fit correctly. It has been almost 6 months since I bought these and they still fit perfectly. I regret not catching the employee who helped me name. Additionally, she was super helpful when it came to purchasing the shoes, as I wished to use a giftcard for some of the purchase and then pay the rest with credit card. I later saw that same employee in the food court of the mall I was shopping at on her break and she waved at me. Super friendly! I honestly really recommend purchasing from Nordstrom they provide great service in addition to great products like my slip on checkered vans.

Comfy, runs large for women
These slip-ons were just what I wanted - comfortable, simple, decent quality. I'm usually size 7-7.5 and got the 7.5, which was too roomy. I'm keeping them because they feel good, but if I ordered another pair I'd go for a 7. This is a no-frills shoe - signature Vans gum sole has good grip, but the interior is unlined except for a faux leather at the collar where the heel slips in. I have sensitive feet and had no problems the first day of wear. Appearance-wise, with the right outfit these are classic and hip, but with the wrong outfit they are clunky and boyish (actual adolescent boy, not cool laid-back "BF" style). If you want to ensure a good look there are cuter, slimmer styles from Vans' more trendy lineups. But if you want something low key, comfortable, super easy to kick off/step on, and classic, I do recommend these.

Great summer shoe
I have wide feet with a high instep. I was super worried these wouldn't fit but I was pleasantly surprised to find they did! They look so cute with capris, shorts, even dresses. I took the advice of other reviewers and went with a size 7 instead of my usual 7.5 and was really happy I did. Couldn't beat the price Nordstrom's was offering either.

Cute but not comfortable
I bought the all white ones because they looked cute with so many outfits while browsing pictures online. I originally ordered my size (9) and they did not feel right at all so I returned them and ordered up half a size, but they were not comfortable either. Both felt too tight across the top of my foot. 9.5 slipped a little so I guess 9 with quite a bit of wearing in would be better as far as the heel, but I did not want to chance that the top would eventually be comfortable so returned both pairs. Such a shame. I don't buy wide in any of my shoes at all so do not know why they did not work out.
